Kicillof Criticizes Clean Record Bill

The governor of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, criticized the Clean Record bill, warning that it aims to ban Cristina Kirchner and limits democratic freedom.

The governor of the province of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, expressed his rejection of the Ficha Limpia bill, considering it an attempt at persecution and disqualification directed against former president Cristina Kirchner.

"What a paradox that they call it Ficha Limpia when it is a project that only seeks to dirty and has a clear objective of disqualifying Cristina Kirchner," Kicillof stated through his comments on social media.

Furthermore, the governor of Buenos Aires criticized the ruling party and its allies, accusing them of using a republican discourse while, according to his words, advancing restrictions on freedom. "The freedom that the ruling party and its allies preach so much ends up being a farce, and it becomes increasingly noticeable, even if they try to disguise it with republican speeches," he asserted.

Axel Kicillof urged Congress to reject the initiative, arguing that its approval would be a blow to the fairness of the democratic system. "There are no free elections or full democracy if there is disqualification and persecution," he concluded.

The Ficha Limpia project aims to prevent people with convictions in second instance from running for elected positions, a measure that has generated controversy in both political and judicial spheres.
